anyway as i was sayin... i was in langkawi and it was great!!! thankz to all my fantastic relatives there... n the great company of nicolas n mehdi!!
motor biking around the whole island was totally awesome... i love the feeling of being ride ard....
Travel tips About Langkawi
To get to langkawi, you'll gonna have to take a bus to alor setar from either spore or JB... of course JB's much cheaper but.. have to watch out for people who'll lie to u abt the time for departure juz to get u to buy tickets from them,,, waited a good 3 hrs to board the bus.. this stupid indian told us that it was at 830pm in the end i boar the bus at ard 10 plus.... worse still that stupid tumlet has the cheeks to tell mi that it was written 945pm on the tickets when its so obvious to anyone with the least bit of knowledge about the mordern numerical system that it was written 8 45pm.. wat an ass!
wuuuu shaaaa~~~~ *deep breath
where was i??
oh ya.. its abt 13 hr ride to alor setar where you'll either take a bus or taxi to the jetty to board the ferry.. there is a ferry to langkawi at every hour.
its about 1 hr 15mins journey to langkawi island.
i would suggest that you either rent a car or a motorbike to travel around coz there isnt any public transport except a taxi...
and i personally prefer the motorbike (30rm a day) coz thats the best way to see the whole island.
The best part about Langkawi is the DUTY FREE! yup you heard me rite, Duty free! so the booze r really cheap.. how cheap u say? hmmm how about 1.70 ringgit for a can of tiger? plus there a tonnes of duty free booze shop around so you'll have no prob finding booze plus the fierce compeition, i'm sure that there are bargains to be found.
you can find lodgings easily there from cheap hotels to 5 stars ones like the sheraton.
The pace of life is langkawi is slow and relax...
the first place of interest is definetely the cable car.. its about 500m above sea level n the view is gorgeous... cost you about 15 rm
there are numerous beaches around and some of them are nice...
but have to watch out for tanjiong rhu which is a nice beach with great sand and a good view.. but dun try to walk to over to the nearby island during low tide coz when the tide comes in it creates a whirlpool due to the 3 small islands infront of it. to swim in it is juz as dangerous coz the beach doesnt slope down gradually there is a sudden drop and that is where people gets caught in the whirlpool.. almost every year some tourist would die there.. so my advise is go have a look at the beach for its nice view and nice sand, u can swim very near to shore at your own risk but dun try to swim out too far or walk on the sand during the low tide...
you can have a look at the black sand beach... nothin very fantastic abt it though..
pantar cenang is nice you can spend the day there swimming and play water sports. the other places of interest are the underwater park , the reptile park, bird park, mini zoo. you can also go on tours by boat to various parts of the island eg. for eagle feeding, bats cave, mangrove swamp the fresh water lake in the middle of the island and many more.
one of the must go places will be the highest point in langkawi at the mountains about 800m above sea level.. you can see the whole of langkawi island from there.
i feel that the best thing about langkawi are the people there. they are friendly. and the kampongs dotted all around the island and beside the roads is a nice sight to behold and the great part about it are the little stores by the road side with the malayladies sellin their wares... from goreng pisang(fried banana) to the all too fantastic Ramli burger to stores selling typical malay dishes etc.... you will have to try those food coz they are so delicious!
you can also snokel at langkawi aat the marine park. they have a ferry that brings to snokel at this island near langkawi... its abt 1 hr 30 mins
there are alot of variety of fishes there and you will definetly get to see sharks as they swim up to the beach...
if you wanna club i would recommend you this club at sheraton hotel called SomePlaceElse, it nice with a live band playing... i had a great time there!

Noddles around ur Ass~

Its really funny how things turn up when u least expect it to... Nicolas got his Phone back when we all thought that it was stolen in sentosa, and guess what they found it at KM8!
and its funny how the french describe someone who is lucky, they would say he has noodles around his ass. Dun give mi that look, i'm not the one who invented that..
and i guess the french don't believe that only good things can happen to someone , coz if u lose a game, they would say that u'll get lucky in love, but if u get really good luck it would mean that ur galfren/boyfren is cheating on u... sad huh... that way u'll never be totally happy... =p
anyway i'll have to go to langkawi rite after exams to collect my new malaysian ID...
well take it as a free holidays coz i'll get free lodgings and most prob free snokelling!!! yipee!!!!!!

Capturing the Moments!!
Capturing Perhentian in memory
Perhentian Islands

The sink at sympony

Sympony's Hut

what is more to say about Perhentian kecil island except that it is totally awesome!!!!!!
The different shades of blue of the sea from blue green to turqouise to blue...totally clear! it juz simply takes ur breath away.. no matter how many times i looked at the sea it never seems to make me less awed...
Guess i will have cravings for the great lassi especially the banana lassi and the strawberry milk shake... the mama club sandwish and real mash potato!!!!
life is moving at such a slow and carefree pace... stress?? what's that??
but its sad that the coral in the shallow waters are dead, but the snokelling is great too.. saw a turtle that was so huge. wow!!! and swimming with the fishes feels like i am floating in paradise... fishes of all size and color...
The locals are so relax and cool... nuthing like the typical muslims in malaysia... they smoke , drink party all day long...
Some Travel advise =p
To get to Perhentian islands you can get a bus at Larkin in JB, which is the same price in spore abt 45 dollar except that its in ringgit, to Trengganu and frm trengganu you can walk to the local bus station(500m away) and take a bus to kuala besut for abt 3-4 hr for 8 ringgit, the taxi would try to demand 80 rm from u, so i wouldnt recommend it, apparently the trip by taxi shld only cost abt 40 rm. guess the locals are trying all they can to squeeze the tourist dry.
from kuala Besut you can choose two kinds of sea transport, by speed boat which would take abt 30 min at 60rm for round trip, though we managed to get it for 50 rm, which is avaliable almost immediately or the slow boat which takes about 1 hr30 mins for 40rm and with no regular timing. Its pretty obvious that the locals are trying to earn as much as they can.
if you are returning on a friday i would advise to leave by the 4pm boat because of the friday prayers the bus would only start running from 3 -4 pm onwards.
There are 2 perehentian islands, Perhentain Kecil and Besar.
The places to stay there are cheap too, ranging from 25 ringgit above...
At perhentian kecil there are two main beaches, coral bay and long beach. i would say that if you like a quiet beach to chill out coral bay is the place. the accomdation is pretty okie at Fatimah chalet for 30 ringgit, with basic needs such as a bed and toilet and not missing the mosquito net ( it would be great if you do bring along a repelllent).
The whole atmosphere on ths island is pretty rastafarie Hint* =p
Peronaly i prefer Long beach, the water is much nicer and the waves are larger, and if you like late nitez party or place to chill out plamtree cafe 2 @ at long beach is the place! The cheapest place at long beach has got to be sympony, at 25 riggit, with common toilets. the rooms are wooden attap huts big enough to hold only 2 single beds, with palm tree leaves for the roof with holes in it. you can see the moonlight thru the holes when you sleep (great isnt it? u can save on nite lights). The only sink is outdoors infront of a snall tree with a tiny piece of broken mirror stuck between the branches. The shower room is the most basic of the basic , with the rusty shower head splewing out brown rusty water, and the toilet without a flush and the only way to clean urself after releasing is using water. typical asia way. i dun mind the shower its the toilets that's not that comfortable for me, i dun mind creepy places but it musn't smell too bad and i need enough lighting to see. but overall its great for the price u pay =p. i would reccomend the toilets at the resturants for shittin.. if not the toilets at sympony are pretty ok for peeing.=p
okie enough of toilet talk.
the food there is really good but a little pricey for malaysia with food(main course) costing abt 7 rm and above.
The must do activities are slacking and tanning on the beach, swimming in the all too fantastic sea, snokelling etc.
the music at Palmtree cafe 2 is pretty good from R n B to regge to house to trance etc.
i would really encourage you to visit Perhentian islands coz its pardise! heheh well close enough except for the toilets =p

Addiction

its weird that whenever i dun run, i feel like i am weak and flabby and disgustingly slack.... addiction....
its like an addiction to cocaine, whenever you dun get ur regular doses ur body goes into redrawal syndrome, my body starts feelin very tired and lethargic...
craving for running... it goes into shock.
my body starts shaking and shivering
spasms wreck their way through my body
fagitue and lethargic-ness overwhelming me
I craved
I hankered
I yearned
for it
like a drug
i am an addict

No.. Dun.. Blah Blah Blah...
NO! dun! it's not gonna last... dun put in too much...
this's wat ppl hav been sayin to mi...
dun invest in something that wun last or hav returns in the end..
but do you realise that time is not an accurate measurement?
it can be something that is 5 or 10 yrs but it still ends in the end
so should i hav said no to u in the first place?
no i wun, because you should experience life the way your hearts tells u to with regards to using ur head too.
i noe that its something that wun last but does it matter?
now that i am happy with life?
and that i found a reason for mi to smile?
never live life and look back saying i should have... i wish i had.. if only i..
never regret, every day is an experience that is unique
so celebrate each day that u lived coz not one is similar...

Immerse in the Present

The weather is really awesome, with the right kind of sun for a great day at the beach...
and it makes mi feel happy.... =)
but i guess watever that goes up will come down sooner or later...
nothing lasts forever especially the happy moments..
but meanwhile why worry about the future when you cant predict it?
immerse in the present and bask in the happy times..

Grayness
my night's shrouded by this aura of moody-ness
that somehow seems to engulf my whole being
swallowing me atom by atom...
yet strangely there is no will to get out of it...
i am in the midst of Gray Clouds....
Drifting..

Uncertainties
running... once a passion so strong that nothing could deter me from its path...
to feel the speed when you run...
the trill of clocking a good time...
the pressure of performing..............
do i still run becoz of the desire to run???
i love running... but...... has training became a chore instead of an enjoyment?
has the pressure to perform turn it into a a battle everytime?
where has my fighting spirit gone?
why do i not feel motivated to train everyday?
or has the training environment changed?
3 yrs... i am almost always trainin alone... all the time
rain or shine i will be down at the track
gave up my social life, pratically no time to meet up with friends..
i always wonder how is it like to hav a life other than running 24/7
to play other sports for pure enjoyment?
and not competitive all the time?
ranking 5th in singapore now.. wat has it given mi???
more pressure from coach paul to perform??
to feel screwed up everytime i cant clock a good time in the race?
feel ashame to face coach...
i dun noe wat i want anymore...
i used to be so sure but now... there r many other things in life that i want to achieve..
everyone is saying dun give up you r almost there but do they know the toll it has taken on mi??
i know i always seems like an energizer bunny always on the go.. trainin everyday but do they noe the lonliness of trainin alone?
the Sacrifice i made to be where i am today?
i am so afraid that if i let go i'll regret it..
but i juz dun no how to carry on...
